What a lovely dinner this was. Tuna steaks in a beautiful chilli and lime sauce with salad and chilli and lime buttered new potatoes. Eaten in the garden with a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Perfect mid week dinner. Quick, light and healthy.

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 fresh tuna steaks

1 red chilli – sliced thinly

Juice of a lime

1 large clove of garlic – minced

Tablespoon olive oil and a glug to pan fry

Salt and cracked black pepper to season

New potatoes and salad to serve

Chilli and lime butter for potatoes – approx 4 each

Tablespoon butter

Lage squeeze of lime

1/4 teaspoon chilli powder

Method

Start by boiling your new potatoes. When they have about 8 minutes left you can start to pan fry your tuna steaks.

While the potatoes are boiling mix up your olive oil, lime juice, salt, pepper and sliced chilli in a small bowl.

Place your tuna steaks on the work surface and massage the marinade into them turning to get the steaks fully coated.

When the potatoes have 8 minutes or so left, place another glug of oil in the pan and heat. Add your tuna steaks and pan fry for approx 3-4 minutes each side.

Serve with your new potatoes and a fresh, crunchy salad. Simply mix up the ingredients for the chilli and lime butter and add to the potatoes when they are drained.
