I never met anyone who didn’t like a cookie and these will be no exception. I love anything chocolate or orange flavour so these are heaven if you are like minded.
Sandwich them together with good chocolate ice cream, dunk them in a glass of ice cold milk or just munch them in any other fashion you like.
Makes approx 12
Ingredients
60g softened butter
125g caster sugar
1 large egg – beaten
75g orange dark chocolate crumbled
150g plain flour
Zest of 1 orange
Method
Pre heat oven to 180C / 160C fan
Line 2 baking sheets so the cookies have room to expand
Have a little bite of the chocolate just to make sure it’s ok. Can’t be too sure!
Grate your orange and set the zest aside.
Beat the butter and sugar until smooth.
Add the beaten egg, crumbled orange dark chocolate, and orange zest then fold in the flour.
Mix together to form a dough. Divide into roughly half so you have fairly equal amounts for each tray. Now roll each half into golf ball sized mounds and flatten a little on the baking sheet.
I sprinkle a little flour on the work surface to roll them into as they form better this way. The dough can get a little sticky otherwise.
Bake on the middle and lower shelf for approx 18 minutes. Keep an eye on them so they don’t overcook. Now transfer them onto a wire rack to cool.
Enjoy anyway you fancy.
